The irony of my job...

I photograph the one thing I swore I never would, Weddings.

And guess what, I LOVE it.

As a student, I was determined to move to New York and to become this great fashion photographer. Fighting through people to get my work shown, commuting four hours a day, paying three times the amount for a small apartment and then reality set in. I did not want to move, but I did want to photograph people. A year later a local wedding photographer offered me my first shooting job. It was then I finally realized that a bride on her wedding day was just like having a fashion shoot with a gorgeous subject.

Now, you might be thinking, “yeah right not me”. Yes you, think of it this way; this is the one day that you will spend the whole day getting ready with professionals, you will be wearing a dress that cost more than all the clothes in your closet, combined, and the man you love has been waiting all day just to see you. How can this make a bad picture? If you feel beautiful, you look beautiful, if you feel happy, you smile happy and if you have professionals working with you, well… it helps.

So let's recap, a beautiful woman who feels confident, a very expensive dress, professional hair and make up and a professional photographer. Sounds like a fashion shoot to me.
